Labor market

Liberal employment laws

The Swiss labor market is characterized by its high productivity, low unemployment rate, and its flexible regulations, all of which have led to a constructive relationship between employees and employers.  The strong rapport between the unions and company directors is based on cooperation and dialogue, which has made Switzerland’s economy one of the most stable and productive in the world.  Strikes are almost non-existent, with the last general strike taking place almost a century ago.
